How to book an appointment
You can contact us directly on 0421 770 022 to book an appointment as a private, fee-paying client. If you are with a health fund you may be able to claim a partial rebate; you will need to follow this up with your private health fund.
You can ask your GP for an assessment of eligibility for Medicare’s Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative. If you are eligible you will need to book a long appointment with your GP for completion of a Mental Health Care Plan to enable you to receive a partial rebate on the cost of your sessions. If you are experiencing financial stress or on a low income you may be eligible to be referred under the Access to Allied Psychological Services (ATAPS) which is a fully funded program through Primary Health Network (PHN). Referral through the ATAPS Program still requires completion of a Mental Health Care Plan with your GP. The referral will be sent to the ATAPS Triage and must be approved prior to an appointment being booked with a counsellor. You can visit NT Primary Health Network’s website or more details. You may be eligible through your workplace to access services via an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). An EAP is an employee benefit program that assists employees with personal problems and/or work-related problems that may impact their job performance, health, mental and emotional well-being. EAPs generally consist of free and confidential assessments and short-term counselling for employees and their household members.
Caring Matters provides services through contracts and memorandums of understanding with other organisations including: Carers NT, Open Arms (formerly VVCS), BSS and the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. Your workplaces’ Human Resources Department or others may be able to provide you with advice on this option.
